the mountain Role: Designer, artist, writer “The mountain” is a tiny narrative game made in bitsy. It is a poem of sorts — a reflection on mountains, emptiness, loss, and remembering what it means to be alive. I wrote the story and created the art. The music was provided by R Beny. "The mountain" won an 2023 IFDB award and was nominated for the Debug Indie Game Awards. |

monarch Role: Designer, artist, writer, programmer. Monarch is a game about migration, resilience, and our environment. It is made in Gamemaker. When I was a child in the suburbs of California, the monarch butterfly migration was an event that I could only describe as magic. I walked through clouds of them on the way home from school. Flocks so thick that they blotted out the sky. But slowly — almost imperceptibly at first — they stopped coming. Western monarch butterflies have declined by 99% since the 1980s. |

the sea god Role: Designer, artist, writer. "the sea god" is a tiny narrative game made in bitsy. It's a poem (kind of) about death: death as a gift, death as a blessing. Around the time i was reading moby dick, i saw a striking image online of sperm whales sleeping: upright, their mammoth bodies suspended impossibly in space. i thought about what a miracle it was for something to contain all that — cells, matter, lifestuff. and then, I thought about what happened when they died. when their borrowed bodies (all our bodies are borrowed, after all) were returned to the ocean. |
